,,,..,

Front Beach just east of the Washington Ave. intersection which can be seen

at the stop sign in last year's picture - left

and at the small white square sign stuck in the ground - right.

This gutted home is the neighbor just a few yards west of "Hidden Treasure" -below.

,,,.........,

I was in disbelief when I saw what happened to this particular home on Front Beach.

I had taken the photo on the left in Nov. 2004 and placed it on Postcards from Ocean Springs

I called it "Hidden Treasure." Journal of my walk there early Sunday morning.

Located on Front Beach just yards east of the Washington Ave. intersection.

Who knew then what a difference a year would make?

(Anyone with information on this home and the people who lived there, the home's history, etc.

please email me and/or let the family know I have this "before" photo for them if they want it.)

Heading east on Front Beach at sunrise, Nov. 7, 2005. This location is just down from the home above.

Very few street lights remained along the beach area.

This photo was taken in 2004. The oak is massive and stands between two homes

located on Harbor Rd.

The oak to the left of the house is the same oak above. It doesn't take long to realize

the white house to the left is now gone. Below is the scene across the street.

Katrina left a huge mess around the harbor.

1216 Harbor – "Thank you all so much"

Continuing around Harbor Rd. where it intersects with La Fontaine,

we came upon the scene above and below...

Looking east into the morning sun, a boat washed upon land,

a strange quality of quiet in the light foggy air... I just stood and stared.

The debris pile seen above continues around to the right – below.

Clark Ave.

Turn around from this view to your right and you see below...

La Fontaine – going west from Harbor Rd./Clark Ave. toward Oakshade Bed and Breakfast.

The trees were a little haggard, but the Lantanas were blooming prolifically by the road side ... roll over this image to see.
