HELP those who have survived hurricane Katrina

and those who continue to go to our Mississippi Gulf Coast to help.

Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." – Margaret Mead

OPERATION EDEN - "A personal chronicle of what hurricane Katrina
has done to my poor proud people." – clayton james cubitt

"Katrina: a gallery of images" is Clayton's link to his incredible photography.

His images provoke a lonely yet awesome beauty juxtaposed against the unimaginable

destructive power of Katrina. Her effects on the people and the things in her path are evident

and will remain so for years to come. As Clayton states, it seems our only hope is ourselves

and the good within people who are willing to help.

FEMA will not help with funding for Katrina Cottages because they are considered "permanent" housing.

FEMA public information officer Eugene Brezany said,

"Our desire is to get people back in their own neighborhoods and their own homes."

"We work under the authority of federal law and it authorizes FEMA to provide temporary housing as a bridge to recovery.

It doesn't authorize long-term housing." - Feb. 2006

"If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer.
But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time,
he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen." – Henry David Thoreau
