Early Monday morning we drove over by Shearwater Pottery.
Damage to the studios, pottery, and watercolors was devastating.

307 General Pershing.

I had fallen in love with this home and had taken pictures of it in Nov. 2004. I was so happy to see it looking wonderful.
A large tree by the sidewalk was lost – roll over to see a picture from Nov. 04.
Because of the colors – a beautiful lavendar purple with rich turquoise blue on the front door and garage doors,
this is one of my favorite Craftsman style houses EVER!
How wonderful to live in a "purple" house!
We talked to a gentleman who was out by the street raking, he didn't live there, but was staying there.
I told him to tell the owner that their house is on my site from last year and that we just love it!

Just about two doors north of the purple house, the damage is evident ... Katrina got nasty.
This is one thing we noticed in certain areas close to downtown – damage could be horrible at one or two houses
while others close by showed much less damage or none to speak of.

Turning onto Calhoun, we saw this house next to the corner.

Just down and across the street was the house below.

This little cottage was knocked off of its foundation and sat leaning.
Perhaps the refrigerator floated to its resting place in the yard.

As we continued west on Calhoun, there was little if any damage to be seen.
