- Washington Avenue one of the most wonderful streets I've ever been on. Here, Live Oaks create cozy tunnels of filtered light with their branches hanging low. Trees here must feel very honored to have clearance signs posted on their lowest branches. A real tribute to the value of all life.
Walking along Washington to the Peter Anderson Festival.
This sign was at the entrance into The Peter Anderson Festival. It clearly speaks of important things that we feel a community should be concerned with. It spoke volumes to us.
One of the many wonderful older homes in this town sits cozily in the cool November morning light. Located on Washington.
Heading uptown from LaFontaine our last day there Mon. Nov. 8, 2004.
The power lines grew through the trees, unlike up here in the hill country of N. Ms. where trees are abruptly stopped underneath the lines, there tops cut an amputation of their beauty.
What more can one say about trees in towns ... Ocean Springs is a model for the incorporation of trees, a natural resource, into their town. Up here, as towns grow, we cut our trees and then we plant tiny, minute, representatives of trees trying to pretend they are as good as the old growth trees ...
